Summary/Abstract: In recent years, vocational education in Romania has undergone a profound process of curricular and structural reconfiguration, driven by the need to align education with the dynamic demands of the labor market and the ongoing socio-technological transformations. In this context, the study of foreign languages—particularly English—has gained increasing importance for the development of professional competences and for the integration of future graduates into a globalized economic environment.Although the role of English in vocational training is acknowledged in European and national strategic documents, educational practice in vocational schools often reveals a significant gap between students’ theoretical knowledge of the language and its applicability in real work situations. Students in the field of automotive mechanics, for example, may reproduce grammatical structures or basic vocabulary, yet they encounter difficulties when using English in interactive, profession-specific contexts such as interpreting technical sheets, understanding repair manuals, or communicating within multicultural teams. In an era shaped by digitalization and globalization, the training of students in vocational education must go beyond the boundaries of a strictly disciplinary curriculum and promote connections between linguistic, technological, and cultural domains. This article aims to highlight how trans-curricular pedagogy, supported by digital educational resources, can enhance the teaching and learning of English in vocational education, providing both a theoretical and practical framework for modernizing educational practices and for developing students’ integrated competences.
