Summary/Abstract: The critical edition of Dosoftei proposed for analysis includes all the verses, original and translations, published by the poet or remaining in manuscript and attributed to him: Stihuri la luminatul herb a Țărîi Moldovei, Psaltirea în versuri, Paraclisul Preacuratei Născătoare de Dumnezeu, Molităvnic de-nțăles, Viața și petrecerea svinților, Parimiile preste an and a few other works, gathered in a heterogeneous section. The actual poetic work is preceded by a comprehensive introductory study and a note on the edition, followed by a section called "Notes and Variants", a glossary (including archaic and regional terms with interesting meanings in the old language), and a table of illustrations. The critical edition proposes the following stages of analysis: The Romanian spiritual framework, New data on an old controversy: Dosoftei and Kochanowski, Psaltirea în versuri and the Birth of the Romanian Poetic Language and Dosoftei, prose translator. Our study will focus on Psaltirea în versuri and how N.A. Ursu and Al. Andriescu approached the editing and interpretation of this work. N.A. Ursu noted the difficulties related to reproducing texts through transliteration and how he opted for an interpretative phonetic transcription, also implementing an update on orthographic and punctuation norms. Other aspects concern the poetic language.
