Summary/Abstract: Demographic decline and labor migration have led to profound transformations in the socio-economic structure of the Oltenia region. The reduction of the active population, driven by workforce relocation to more developed internal areas and other countries, has amplified significant imbalances in the labor market, contributing to the intensification of regional disparities and structural economic changes. This study analyzes the determining factors of these phenomena and their long-term effects on regional development, emphasizing the role of public policies in the economic adaptation process. The methodology relies on comparative analyses, statistical data, and case studies, providing insights into strategies for attracting human capital and efficiently managing the region’s economic resources.
