The scale of scientific development largely depends on the exchange of information between scientists in the national, European, and global dimensions in multilingual debates. Thus, it is of great importance for Ukrainian researchers to get acquainted with the achievements of modern foreign, Frenchspeaking archaeology, by reviewing the work of Swiss archaeologist Pascal Burgunder. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to review and analyze the main works and research areas of Pascal Burgunder related to the archaeology of Bosporus. Pascal Burgunder is one of the most famous contemporary French-speaking researchers of the archaeology and culture of the ancient Bosporus not only in Switzerland but also in Europe. He currently holds the position of scientific secretary of the Institute of Archaeology and Antiquities at the University of Lausanne, responsible for the Bosporus research. Pascal Burgunder’s scientific activity is mainly focused on two main interrelated areas: firstly, his work as an editor of scientific publications and the creator of the world’s first platform for the study of the archaeology of the ancient Bosporus; secondly, his own scientific research on the issues of Bosporus archaeology. In the first area, with the assistance of the Institute of Archaeology and Antiquities of the University of Lausanne (Switzerland), he became a founder and member of the Etudes Bosporanes project. Burgunder also created the world’s first platform for the multicultural fusion of scientists from all continents for multicultural cooperation on the study of the history of Bosporus, including the discovery of ancient coins. As an archaeologist, he is involved in all the endeavors of the Etudes Bosporanes project, including numerous archaeological expeditions in France, Switzerland, and the Crimean peninsula. The results of his field and theoretical research are reflected in 19 published and forthcoming articles and monographs. A large part of his scientific publications is devoted to the issues of researching the burials of the Bosporus, namely: the crypt of Demeter in Kerch, the famous painted tomb of Ashik A.B., the problems of interpretations of the burial of Glykeria in the necropolis of Nymphaeus. In addition, the publications of the antiquarian Pascal Burgunder enriched the archaeological base of the world in the study of wall paintings of antiquities of the ancient Black Sea region in general, and the Bosporus of Cimmeria in particular.
