STORAGE OF VIRTUAL NUMISMATIC RESEARCH DATA

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article consists in researching and highlighting methods of preservation of digitized numismatic objects that can be used in scientific research, and information about them. Theoretical and methodological foundations is a set of general scientific and technological methods and concepts taking into account the needs and peculiarities of the numismatic research process. Scientific novelty. From the very beginning of the XXI century. researchers in various fields of humanitarian sciences began to discover the possibilities of using modern technologies to expand and optimize the process of scientific research. The colossal technological leap that took place over the past twenty years enabled all scientists in the world to become more accessible and closer to each other, and provided the opportunity for rapid exchange of scientific data through the appearance in the global computer network of specialized social networks, databases, online resources, catalogs and archives with scientific caches and data on objects of scientific research. It is difficult to adequately describe how fundamentally this technological revolution facilitated the work of tens of thousands of specialists around the world and changed the process of conducting historical research. The numismatic business, in this sense, was also not left aside, and moving in step with the times, its researchers increasingly today raise the issue of using modern technologies to create, obtain and process digital data about the numismatic objects they are studying. Information and scientific works in this regard are increasing every day, but the problem of correct storage, ensuring the security and confidentiality of already digitized data, as well as the formation of a single well-built and structured database with high-quality content and free access, remains unexplored. and became the main reason for writing this article. The main results of the research. In the domestic scientific and cultural space, compared to our Western foreign colleagues, the development of digitization of the numismatic industry is noticeably limited, but nevertheless, Ukrainian numismatics has a wide potential for creating a high-quality information resource based on digital data about numismatic objects. But to achieve this goal, first of all, we need to solve two key issues: how to digitize numismatic objects and how to ensure their proper storage. Solving these questions can become a catalyst and is an important step in the development of this field of knowledge in the right direction. Solving the issues of digitization and proper storage of digital numismatic data can contribute to the preservation and study of the rich cultural heritage of Ukraine, as well as enrich the world scientific community with information about the numismatic objects of this country, as well as support further cooperation with Western foreign colleagues in this field.
