Summary/Abstract: We propose, through a critical, speculative exercise, to reflect on the aspects that have led over time to a different approach to the Eucharistic ritual within Christian confessions and consequently to the Eucharistic offerings, bread and wine. We will try to understand how it is possible for the transcendent to manifest itself in the empirical and what is the thought (type of intentionality) that animates the encounter with sacred things. We will ask ourselves what it means to have the experience of the sacred in general and what it means to have the experience of the sacred in the Eucharist, in order to explain the differences between the Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant (neo-Protestant) models. In the opposite direction, starting from the cultural and philosophical baggage of wine and changing the register of interrogation, we will try to understand what makes wine such a suitable nectar for the Last Supper.
