Summary/Abstract: The primary/secondary disjunction is, in my opinion, a theoretical lever intended to make the elements of a whole in a certain dynamic better understood. Applied to the senses, this disjunction takes on particular forms that are more about complementarity than mutual sabotage. The present text is about this fertile dynamic between what we might call primary and secondary in the realm of the senses, and how this dynamic tends to confirm (or as the case may be, evade) a hierarchy of the senses as conceived by the great philosophical schools.
