Summary/Abstract: The pages of this article include supremely considerations on the reception of the Italian politician and philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli in the Arab world. On the one hand, the examination revolves around the presentation of some Arabic versions of his masterpiece The Prince, which has been translated into several languages of the world. Therefore, the most important versions that appeared first are chosen, from the first one dating back to the early nineteenth century, to those of Muḥammad Lutfi Gumʻa (1912), Ḫayri Ḥammad (1981) and Akram Moumen (2004). Other space is reserved also for two versions by Algerian translators, Muhammed Ibn al-Bar (1998) and ‘Abderrazak ‘Abid (2011). A general commentary is given on/about the versions, as well as the opinions of the translators and the reception of the work in the Arabic world. On the other hand, the research will expand with reflections on some other research carried out by Arab scholars about the Florentine secretary and his work. The paper reveals divergent digressions, additions and omissions in the arabic versions examined.
