Summary/Abstract: This article investigates the feasibility of a global compromise to mitigate escalating geopolitical tensions, within the broader 2025 global crisis. It explores the conditions and mechanisms enabling major powers, corporations, and societal forces to negotiate mutually acceptable agreements, drawing on historical precedents like the Peace of Westphalia, the Congress of Vienna, and ancient diplomatic truces. The study identifies key actors – states, alliances, corporate entities, and institutionalised ideological spheres – while outlining obstacles such as elite resistance and ideological divides. Ukraine’s potential role in a global compromise is emphasised, alongside the transformative power of public pressure and pragmatic leadership. By proposing a typology of compromises based on timing, agency, and method, the article assesses whether a historic compromise can avert a new cold or hot global war. It argues that, despite challenges from entrenched elites and competing interests, a pragmatic, inclusive approach, inspired by historical and modern examples, offers a pathway to stability.
