Summary/Abstract: Preschool education plays a key role in the formation of a child's personality, and therefore, the professional training of future educators is extremely important for ensuring quality education and development of preschoolers. The author investigates the approach to the professional development of future educators, which is based on the creation of a cognitive and developmental environment in preschool education institutions. The main tasks of this innovative environment are to stimulate children's activity and independence, as well as to develop their creative abilities and cognitive interests. The theoretical foundations of the professional development of future educators are analyzed and an overview of modern methods of organizing the cognitive and developmental environment in preschool education institutions is provided. The constituent elements of a cognitive-developmental educational environment are identified, namely: the presence of stimulating game materials that allow children to actively explore the world around them; ensuring interactivity and cooperation in the children's team; constant educational development, creation of areas for reading, studying nature, art, construction, etc.; organization of a multisensory environment. The factors that determine the success of the functioning of the cognitive and developmental environment in the preschool education institution are specified. The article also includes the results of an empirical study of the effectiveness of the process of professional development of future educators in preschool education institutions, taking into account the specifics of work in the cognitive and developmental environment of preschool education. The factors contributing to the professional growth of specialists and the formation of their professional competences for the effective implementation of professional tasks in the cognitive and developmental environment of a preschool education institution have been determined.
