The Movement for Polish Inventiveness in Lviv up to 1919

Summary/Abstract: The article presents Lviv as one of the main centers of the organized Polish movement for the promotion and development of inventiveness up to 1919. Several exhibitions of Polish inventions were held in Lviv, which was also home to what is arguably the first Polish Association of Inventors – Związek Wynalazców Polskich – active from 1909 and discussed in this article. The significant role of Zygmunt Korostensky (editor of economic and industrial journals and an inventor) in the founding and operation of the Association is analyzed, along with his other initiatives promoting Polish inventiveness.
