Summary/Abstract: The study examined mixed methods research in management sciences by reviewing different literature. Mixed methods research is more challenging, because it involved more financial resources, time and extra work. The major objective of the study is to explore different literature on mixed methods research in management sciences. While the specific objective is to: examine the procedures involved in the application of mixed methods research in management sciences. The study carried out an evaluation of different types of mixed methods research designs, strategies and procedures of mixed methods research, with factors to be considered in mixed methods research. Moreover, different contributions of mixed methods research were also discussed. The study also reviewed fifteen journal articles on mixed methods research with the aid of content analysis technique. The study concluded that choice of research method is influenced by several factors; such as the environment, availability of time and resources. It was also concluded that mixed methods research was recurrently used by management science researchers based on the content analysis of reviewed literature. The study recommended that researcher must ensure the possibility of mixed methods research when carrying out a study and it was also recommended that researchers should state the reasons and justifications for adopting mixed methods research for a study.
