Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the effectiveness of implementation of digital escape rooms as interdisciplinary educational tools. The implementation of escape rooms in education aligns strongly with the development of 21st-century skills, such as technological and information literacy, critical thinking, teamwork and cooperation, organizational skills, creativity and application of integrated knowledge in solving real problems. As part of an innovative pedagogical experiment in a Bulgarian school, a digital escape room was developed and implemented, targeting fifth-grade students. The project was carried out at the end of the first term as a summarizing activity, aiming to integrate the knowledge and skills acquired across all core school subjects: Bulgarian language, English language, Mathematics, IT, Science, Geography, History, Music,Art, Technology and Enterprise and P.E. In conclusion, the feedback received from both students and teachers indicates a high level of engagement, satisfaction, and enhanced understanding of the educational content through its application in a gamified, integrated learning environment. Participants reported that the activity made learning more enjoyable and meaningful while also helping them apply their knowledge in a practical and interactive context. Additionally, numerous students indicated a stronger sense of teamwork and a greater willingness to take initiative during group tasks. The project demonstrates the applicability of digital escape rooms as an effective tool for interdisciplinary and meaningful learning.
