Summary/Abstract: This article analyzes previously unknown thoughts of Lazar Nikolov about the music of Lubomir Pipkov. Part of Nikolov’s unpublished manuscript “Narrative of Experience. Biographical Notes and Reflections”, these thoughts reveal an aspiration for a comprehensive assessment of Pipkov’s work, and his place in Bulgarian music. Based on his view of Pipkov’s music œvre based on professional criteria, Lazar Nikolov outlines its specificity and originality.
