Summary/Abstract: Dynasties are noble families that play an active role in the administration of countries, constitute the source of legitimacy of states, and determine the fate of nations. Dynasties have sometimes brought prosperity and great success to a country, while at other times they have engaged in activities that led to the collapse of the state and caused the country to disappear. While dynasties have played an important role in the history of states in many parts of the world, some families have demonstrated the ability to govern a country for centuries. One such family, the Bagrationi dynasty, has left a deep mark on Georgia's political, administrative, social, economic, cultural, and religious history. From the sixth century, when they first emerged, until the nineteenth century, they actively ruled Georgia and attained the rank of kingship. The Bagrationi are an important dynasty not only for the Georgians but also for Armenian history. They succeeded in establishing kingdoms in both countries and exerted influence over many regions, particularly in Northeast Anatolia. The Bagratids, who established close relations with the Romans, Turks, Arabs, Mongols, and Russians, are a little-known dynasty in our country. This study aims to fill the gap identified in the literature and, in this regard, presents a history of the dynasty based on an evaluation of Georgian and Armenian sources. Ultimately, it has been determined that the Bagrationi dynasty held a significant position in the political life of the South Caucasus, and the family's influence on the region has been emphasized.
