Summary/Abstract: Robert Lazu Kmita’s study examines Novalis’ text Christendom or Europe? (1799) in light of the poet’s complex engagement with Catholic thought. Kmita argues that although Novalis never formally converted to Catholicism, his philosophical and theological reflections reveal a profound alignment with Catholic principles. The study highlights Novalis’ vision of a unified medieval Christian Europe, the spiritual and political consequences of the Protestant Reformation, and the role of the Church and the papacy in ensuring peace and moral order; Alexandru Dărăban investigates the biographical and social origins of the Al-George family from Sângeorz-Băi, with particular focus on the writers Vasile and Ion Al-George. Through meticulous archival research in the Greek-Catholic parish registers of Bistrița, Dărăban challenges claims in secondary sources and online references that the family descended from Roma peasants.
