Summary/Abstract: The study briefly presents Article XXVI of The Fundamental Law of Hungary, the four objectives set out in paragraph (1) thereof, and seeks to answer the question of what development opportunities are inherent in the content of each objective. It examines this in general terms within the Hungarian e-government system, while also highlighting the developments inherent in the legal institution of digital citizenship. The study also highlights the different interpretations of the concept of digital citizenship, the obligations of the state in relation to the enforcement of Article XXVI, and the most important conditions for the creation of a digital state.
