Summary/Abstract: This article constructs a theoretical/conceptual framework that challenges the false dichotomy between radical nihilism, which declares the social subject entirely independent from the object, and passive nihilism, which frames the subject as passively dependent on the social object. Based on this framework, the films The Dreamers (2003) and Tillsammans (2000) are examined through comparative content analysis. The Dreamers illustrates how rebellion, as an object of desire, is shaped through the individual’s relationship with the collective subject. Tillsammans, on the other hand, explores the theme of revolution through tangible and pluralistic heterotopic spaces within everyday life. Both films reveal the emotional, political, and spatial dynamics that trigger processes of subjectivation through cinematic representation. In doing so, they offer a theoretical lens to reconsider both individual desire and social transformation. Thus, the study provides a basis for developing an alternative conceptual framework. It also aims to demonstrate cinema not merely as a narrative tool but as a productive philosophical and political space for critical thought.
