Summary/Abstract: Yavuz Turgul’s “Aşk Filmlerinin Unutulmaz Yönetmeni” (1990) is a film that examines the struggles existing in the social field through the cinema industry. This film addresses the questions of how ambiguous boundaries are drawn within the field, who can cross these boundaries, and who remains outside. According to Pierre Bourdieu, social life encompasses many different fields, and constant struggle can be observed within these fields. He posits that the struggles in these fields generally occur based on the level of capital. Additionally, Bourdieu suggests that the actors within these fields possess habitus that they have socially constructed, and they participate in struggles through these habitus When evaluated through Pierre Bourdieu’s three concepts (field, habitus, capital), the film reveals how these concepts operate. In this study, the film in question is analyzed from a Bourdieusian perspective, within the context of the concepts of field, capital, and habitus. The main character’s failures in trying to enter a new field are evident due to the lack of capital and differences in habitus. The main character fails because he cannot accumulate the capital required by the field he wants to enter and does not possess the habitus of the field he wants to join.
