Summary/Abstract: This paper is part of a monographic study of the musical folklore in the festive and customary ritual system in Dobrudzha. The basic parameters of its presence in the spring holidays calendar are presented, as follows: 1. Organic presence in the festive customs and rituals (Lazarus Saturday, Easter, Saint George’s Day - with the most vivid musical-folklore accents); 2. Accompaniment of spring games and hora dances; 3. More limited, sporadic presence. Its main functions are determined by the degree of commitment to customary ritual practices and entertainment (hedonistic) function. The presence of musical folklore is adequate to the richness and variety of the customary ritual complexes and ritual practices in which the folk spirit is embodied.
