Summary/Abstract: The paper discusses bagpipe inclusion in various publications covering almost one hundred years up to the middle of the 20th century. The beginning was the naming and publication of the newspaper “Gaida” (bagpipe) in 1863 and continues basically in the publications of the literary works – poetry and narratives. The first articles, discussing the design features of the instrument, playing techniques, tonalities, etc. appear much later – at the end of the 19th century, and the first bagpipe studies, where from we retrieve information up to this day, are done by the folklore researcher Raina Katzarova in the forties of the 20th century.
