Summary/Abstract: The Modern Period in Chinese history refers to the time of the rule of the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties (684-1840 AD). Politically, this is a period of transition from division to unity and the creation of a multi-ethnic state, which evolves into a stable period of integration. In terms of music, since during the Classical period the music of the Central Chinese Plain assimilated elements from the music of neighboring regions and other countries, and the Middle Ages witnessed blending and merging between them, with the advent of modern times these trends further developed and the music sphere underwent many innovations, giving rise to new styles.
