The interpretation of baroque music by countertenors on examples of works by Antonio Vivaldi

Summary/Abstract: Contratenor performers have a voice with amazing pitch, impressive range and very good breathing skills. Their singing is characterized by unstoppable splendor, softness, sonority and lively variety - all qualities inherent in baroque music. Vivaldi‘s life coincided with the heyday of the Baroque period. In his operas we feel the deep love for music and dedication of this great composer. This material I will analyze the singing features of the countertenor based on the aria Sposa, son disprezzata from Angelo Manzotti ‚s album Vivaldi: Arie d‘Opera.
