Summary/Abstract: In Europe in the 16th century, women were not allowed to perform on opera stages. Castration singers filled the vacancies in female roles and became the earliest performers in Italian opera. With their outstanding singing skills, they have made opera shine on the stage of musical history and have had an important impact on the development of Italian opera. But later, under people‘s blind fascination and pursuit of the beautiful voice of castrated singers, they gradually began to give up everything and go to the extreme of grandstanding. Eventually, it led to the collapse of opera stage performances, which also hindered the development of opera.
