Three approaches to building melodic jazz improvisation

Summary/Abstract: This report reflects upon three approaches,used by jazz musicians , when building an improvised melodic solo, with one or more comping instruments, engaged in harmony and rhythm. This is a next level in jazz improvisation training, which is built upon the previously acquired knowledge on the connection between scales and chords in jazz. If what was learned about these connections focused mainly on the theoretical, which jazz improvisation is based on, soloing approaches pay attention to the practical.
