Summary/Abstract: The heritage of the art history is an inexhaustible source of ideas and principles for art educators and professionals using art therapy methods and techniques. This text focuses on the background and characteristics of so- called „happy accident“ or „chance creations“ techniques. Techniques of chance are types of approaches to pictorial material that support experimental work with it and lead to new spectacular imagery arising from principles such as spontaneity and associativity. Knowledge of the principles of this group of techniques allows specialists educators and art therapists to purposefully in their work to provoke and motivate through creativity confidence, overcoming anxiety of the unknown, imagination, concentration, sharing as well as the manifestation of knowledge and cultivation of skills.
