Summary/Abstract: The migration processes from the beginning of the XIX century in North-Eastern Bulgaria are traced back. In the aftermath of the Second Balkan War, part of the population from Southern Dobrudzha moved to Ruse and Byala regions. Refugees brought with them both traditions and dances. The focus is on tracing the path of the Bulgarian folk dance Dobrudzhanska rachenitsa in the villages with hartsoi – one of the ethnographic groups of old Bulgarian population in Northern and some regions of North-Eastern Bulgaria, located mostly in the settlements around the town of Ruse and Byala.
