Summary/Abstract: The author of the article describes and analyses the contributions of the architect Eugen Bâzgu (1955-2016) in the investigation and promotion of the Orheiul Vechi Reserve. Eugen Bâzgu dedicated many years to researching monuments from the Orheiul Vechi region and drafting conservation-restoration projects. At the same time, E. Bâzgu distinguished himself as a researcher of the traditional culture and customs from the Orheiul Vechi region – in Trebujeni, Butuceni, and Morovaia; these investigations were extended to villages from neighbourhood. He collected very important data and materials for the ethnographic study of the region. He undertook important projects of documenting the vernacular architecture from Butuceni and Trebujeni.
