Summary/Abstract: The standardization of visual arts curricula in secondary schools provokes the search for alternative approaches and tools to prepare students for the modern world. Inte-grative learning, seen as the most complex form of interdisciplinary learning, is an appro-priate tool through which learners can use their knowledge and skills towards their practical use. Due to the lack of a clearly established modernized learning system, teachers could aim to create project-based learning linking the visual arts with global topics from other disci-plines (biology, history, geography, mathematics, etc.). Interdisciplinarity can help prevent the arts from becoming marginal disciplines.
