Summary/Abstract: The current level of safety is mainly the result of technological and structural progress in the field of aviation. Despite financial investments in modernization and availability of materials, achieve- ments or failures depend mainly on the competence of the personnel. Aircraft maintenance personnel are responsible for the process of aircraft maintenance in military aviation. Technical maintenance of military aircraft is a team process, in which a group of qualified personnel specializing in different areas participate. The process of technical maintenance of military aircraft requires technical personnel to have specific knowledge and specialized skills. The primary objective of this study is to identify and assess the impact of routine in the work of aviation engineering personnel on the level of flight training safety. Achieving such a formulated objective required solving the research problem expressed by the question: how is the execution of routine (procedural) activities by aircraft maintenance personnel carried out during the maintenance of aircraft equipment? The article adopts the hypothesis that, in the process of aircraft maintenance, routine (procedural) actions performed by aircraft maintenance personnel constitute a key condition for ensuring operational safety, and that the execution of military aviation tasks requires strict adherence to established procedures. The basic theoretical methods used in the preparation of the publi- cation were analysis, synthesis and inference. The empirical method was also used. A diagnostic survey was conducted during the implementation of the training aircraft maintenance process. Based on the relevant literature studies and surveys conducted during the training aircraft maintenance process, the characte- ristic features of the professional routine experienced by maintenance personnel were determined. As a result, it was established that maintenance personnel perform tasks in accordance with the established framework of activities. Routine (procedural) activity gives them a sense of security and allows them to save on attention. Regular performance of the same duties according to fixed patterns also leads to the acquisition of proficiency, supports the development of critical thinking and allows aircraft maintenance personnel to better notice details.
