Summary/Abstract: Countess Teréz Brunszvik was born 250 years ago in 1775 in Pozsony (now Bratisla¬va). Her figure and life’s work are well known both in Hungary and internationally: sources mention her primarily as an enthusiastic and successful kindergarten orga¬nizer, the founder of the very first kindergarten in Hungary, which opened in 1828. Although she left behind few theoretical pedagogical writings, her educational ideas can be reconstructed on the basis of her memoirs, diaries, travel notes, notes, documents, and letters. This study focuses on Brunszvik’s efforts, ideas, and achieve¬ments in the field of women’s education during the Reform Era, placing them in a broader context of women’s history. The aim of the research is to provide a more accurate overview of the contribution of Countess Brunszvik’s life’s work to women’s education. The source material for the study is provided by Teréz Brunszvik’s own writings: emphasis and analysis are given to her draft plan for the establishment of women’s education institutions, presented in the 1844 issue of Világ, which differed from András Fáy’s plan published in 1841, as well as her article entitled Nőképzés és nőnevelés (Women’s Education and Upbringing), published in 1928 issue of Kisded¬nevelés, in which she also called for ensuring full educational equality for women and developing forms of education for them that were equivalent to those for men.
