Summary/Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the friendship between Prince Stanislaus Poniatowski, the king’s nephew, and poet, bishop of Warmia Ignacy Krasicki. No testimony of the bond between these two prominent figures of the Polish Enlightenment has been preserved apart from letters of Krasicki to Poniatowski (no letters from the prince to the poet remain). In the name of friendship, Krasicki dedicated to Poniatowski three poems which are important thematically and artistically perfect. The paper presents the biographical and historical background of contacts between the two friends and interpretation of works by Krasicki.
