Summary/Abstract: The text-discourse for the popularization of science is defined as a way of translation, of "recontextualization" [Calsamiglia, 2003: 142] of a source text of scientific origin, in order for it to be understood by a wide audience, defined as a non-specialist audience. This mediation, from hermetic science to common language science, is carried out by a mediator, the "third man" [Jacobi, 1985] – represented by either the scientist or the journalist. In this context, an essential feature of the discursive genre [Maingueneau, 2007: 69-74; Nagy, 2015: 165] in question is the reader’s attraction to the debated topic. A common practice that we find in the multitude of science popularization discourses is the subjective approach of those described, filtering the subject through a personal register by presenting the scientific content according to one’s own experience. This procedure, of course, is part of the category of those aimed at capturing, attracting the public to the world of the text, because, as Umberto Eco (1979) stated- a text can only live through its reader. In order to make the science popularization text attractive, we will find, therefore, that the mediator will approach the reader through various discursive-pragmatic ways. Our interest will be directed towards the process of seduction of the audience through accessibility to the scientific content of the text, which will refer to the involvement of the mediating self in the scientific "story", the exposition of positive/negative commentary on the subject presented and the use of humor and irony as "social and psychological manifestations" [Zafiu, 2011: 497].
