RESEARCH – INNOVATION AS FACTORS IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: The paper studies the main categories of scientific research and innovation; the connection of research with other fields; makes an analysis of the real situation in the given field; highlights a series of measures that contribute to improving the organizational framework and the relations between the research-innovation activity; appropriate stimulation of research staff; capitalization of research topics of great importance for the economy; the effectiveness of scientific research results. The stages (phases) of the transfer of technological innovations to the enterprise are characterized: recognition of an opportunity; formulation of an idea, constitution of a concept; solution of technical and market problems; realization of the prototype; commercial development; homologation and/or generalization of technology; and the factors on which the level of technological innovation of a product depends: factors related to industrial policy; factors that differentiate the market and environmental conditions, etc. studied the experience of American and Japanese companies on ways to obtain low costs in the process of product innovation.
