Summary/Abstract: What is Christian hope? This article attempts to answer this question using key biblical texts from the Old and New Testaments. Figures of hope who shaped their lives entirely out of trust in God are presented: Abraham and Ruth, a psalmist, and the two great apostles Peter and Paul. None of them had an easy life. They are all united by a calling from God that binds them entirely to him and deprives them of almost all human freedom. Only in this way can they overcome the challenges they face as witnesses of faith. It is precisely through this that they become figures of hope in faith.
