Summary/Abstract: The article examines the anti-Greek movement in Bulgaria in 1906. Among the most important factors, that gave impetus to these events, are the disclosures from September-October 1905 in Bulgaria. They found that in the Principality from 1904–1905 onwards a Greek organization network was in action. It turns to be a link into the overall organizational structure of the Greek armed propaganda in Macedonia. The latter is an extension of the ecclesiasticaleducational efforts by the Greek side to Hellenize the population of Macedonia, with the aim of accession this area to Greece. Therefore, the author sees a close relationship between anti-Greek pogroms and so mentioned propaganda. However, it is considered that the leading role is performed not by economic Bulgarian-Greek rivalry in Bulgaria but the accumulated negative energy by Bulgarians in the Principality because of long-lasting Bulgarian-Greek national struggles in Bulgarian ethnic areas and especially in Macedonia. The relevant evaluations of the event, in the sense that this is an unfortunate and inadequate nationalist expression, which did not bring anything to alleviate the situation of the Bulgarians in Macedonia, are given.
