Summary/Abstract: The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies has created new application opportunities in various fields such as education, healthcare, and psychology, enabling more effective and personalized solutions in these areas. Social robots, which can interact with humans, have played a significant role in this process, beginning to reshape forms of social interaction and expanding their application areas across various sectors. This situation has led to a rapid increase in academic interest in the effects of social robots on individuals and communities. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of research conducted in the social sciences on the topic of social robots, which are increasingly present in various areas of society. In the data collection process, the studies listed in the Web of Science (WoS) database were searched using the keywords “social robot or social robots”. “document title, abstract and keywords” were selected as search criteria and the sources accessed were limited to ‘social sciences’ and a total of 481 studies were reached. In the studies were examined using the VOSviewer package program with various dimensions such as co-authorship, citation, research area and geographical location of institutions. In the research findings, it was observed that the most common types of publications were articles, papers, review articles, and book chapters, respectively, the most studied topic in the field of psychology in social sciences, the number of publications on the subject increased especially between 2020-2023, and the country with the highest number of publications was the United States of America. In addition, the most cited authors are Lee, Kwan Min, et al. (2006), Tanaka, et al.(2007), Kim, Elizabeth (2013) and the studies in this field are shaped around the keywords social robots, human-robot interaction, social robot, social robotics, artificial intelligence and anthropomorphism.
