Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between Oğuz Atay's novel The Disconnected and Jack Mezirow’s transformative learning theory, in the context of lifelong learning and adult education. For this purpose, case study design, one of the qualitative research designs, was preferred and data were collected through literature review method. With the literature review and examinations made, the didactic aspect of literature was emphasized and the transformation of Turgut Özben character was evaluated by examining the novel The Disconnected with transformative learning theory. As a result, it was observed that the transformation of Turgut Özben character took place according to transformational learning steps and it was supported by expert opinions. Additionally, it has been observed that there are not enough studies on the relationship between lifelong learning and literature, this article also aims to shed light on the field.
