Summary/Abstract: The manuscripts offer a unique opportunity to learn about the culture of a highly influential, yet – at least for this period – less-known family. The documents allow us to reconstruct how the Batthyáns thought about education and cultural assets. This is particularly interesting because not only the Batthyáns but the entire 18th century is considered an area of scientific research where many objects and topics await further understanding and discovery. A rough overview of the manuscripts can be a useful starting point for future research in several ways.
