Some Remarks on age limits in the Bulgarian state army during the late ninth – early tenth centuries: A particular historical case

Summary/Abstract: “Miracle of St. George with Bulgarian warrior George” and “Miracle with Kliment” are well known stories. Nevertheless, there are some moments which have not been investigated yet. The discussed stories present many facts for historical research. Most of these data are studied from various aspects. At the same time a careful investigation reveals unexpected information regarding the age limits in the Bulgarian army during the ninth and tenth centuries. These are also remarkable aspects concerning possession, military recruits and personal obligations of the early medieval Bulgarian society members.
