Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the prototype of PONK: an on-line readability assessment tool for Czech legal and administrative texts. It draws inspiration from similar tools for other languages — particularly the Polish Jasnopis. It helps lawyers and clerks proofread their texts from three perspectives: classic readability metrics adapted to Czech; hand-crafted linguistic rules for detecting potentially proble matic passages; and lexical surprisal (text predictability).
