Summary/Abstract: The book Mareșalii Palatului (The Marshals of the Palace) is a study by Tudor Vișan-Miu that focuses on the lives of the marshals at the Royal Court of Romania, their portraits, and the events in their lives. It is a very detailed study, even if the author, at times, risks straying from the subject. Nevertheless, Tudor Vișan-Miu also explores the extensive duties dignitaries, from managing the Royal House’s assets to developing protocol rules and overseeing relations with state authorities. The book is a solid historical study that brings an institution and a function that were essential to the functioning of the Royal House to the reader’s attention.
