Summary/Abstract: The last decade of the last century brought many changes in various fields. One of the substantial changes, beneficial, can be considered the generalization of the use of personal computers and the wider accessibility to the public. The penetration of these hardware and software tools in the field of commercial, office, and design work could not fail to reflect the creation of electronic commerce, which in turn generated the appearance of the electronic document and, respectively, the electronic signature. With the development of the IT field, organizations and individuals are increasingly exchanging documents in electronic format via email, download/upload, and other means of file transfer. In the context of the global pandemic of COVID-19, which continues to register a rapid expansion in most countries, the problems of electronic commerce unresolved in practice or at the doctrinal level have become more acute, generating the need to accelerate research into the phenomenon of electronic sales. In the short term, it is necessary to adjust legislation and commercial practices to the demands during the pandemic, anticipating possible crisis scenarios. However, we can state with full confidence that electronic commerce in general, as well as the institution of online sales in particular, will continue to develop exponentially, effectively ensuring the increased needs of all actors involved.
