Summary/Abstract: Paratext has an aesthetic role, offering clues that help readers understand a literary text. is study focuses on analyzing some titles and dedications used by the novelist Aureliu Busuioc, looking at their expressive power in relation to the main text. It also presents ideas from researchers interested in paratext, starting with Gérard Genette and continuing with Philippe Lane and Anca Davidoiu-Roman. The research examines how paratext works both as an introduction and as a key the reader can return to after reading, to better understand the ironic style of Busuioc’s writing. Both thematic and rhematic titles are examples of lively communication meant to encourage the reader’s critical thinking. Additionally, this study highlights the emotional side of Busuioc’s work, shown by his habit of dedicating his novels to family members, a form of feeling that fits well with his ironic style.
