Summary/Abstract: The use of database management systems is particularly important in modern GIS concepts, as it allows for the integration of spatial and non-spatial data. A database management system is a set of software for organizing information in the form of a database. It may include modules for data entry, verification, storage, retrieval, processing, management, security, etc. The development of relational database management systems is particularly significant and widely used today. The study conducts a detailed analysis of the problems related to 3D modeling of the sea bottom. Based on reviewed and analyzed literature sources, it was found that the most appropriate is the vector modeling of the seabed. Vector data have a number of advantages, such as: they occupy much less disk space; it is easier to attach various attribute information; there is no need to convert the digitized data; the graphic presentation of vector data is of better quality. For the creation and modeling of the three-dimensional model of the territorial sea (12n.m.) and the adjacent zone(24n.m) the AutoCAD software product for two-dimensional design was used. The creation and maintenance of such accurate vector models of the seabed is of key importance for the sustainable management of Bulgaria's marine spaces, supporting various activities such as fishing, shipping and protection of the marine ecosystem.
