Summary/Abstract: Contemporary quality control in education is not focused only on the final outcome, but on the education process itself. The basic control function of management in education is the development and advancement of the quality of the operations of the school or university. This paper therefore analyses the entire control process on which the effectiveness of a school or university depend. In particular, it addresses organizational control, which ensures the transition from control to self-control. This is processual, development-oriented control, which increases teacher creativity, and encourages an innovative approach to teaching. The paper also analyses issues such as the flawed understanding of control, statistical processual control and the role of feedback in the control process.
