Summary/Abstract: Armoured Train No. 3 “Lieutenant Colonel Lis-Kula”, nicknamed “Pepetrójka”, was one of the most distinguished units of its kind in the Polish Army during the Polish–Russian War of 1919–1920. During Tukhachevsky’s second offensive in the summer of 1920, the train crew repeatedly demonstrated courage and dedication, contributing significantly to both the enemy’s losses and the destruction of railway infrastructure during the retreat. The article presents a report of these operations in July and August 1920, authored by the train’s Commander, Lieutenant Felicjan Madeyski. A rather stark picture emerges of manoeuvre warfare on the iron rails, where sudden raids coexist with the risk of encirclement, and a certain degree of boldness is indispensable to support one’s own forces. The author of the source material is introduced, alongside a history of the “Lis-Kula” from its establishment in November 1918 to its disbandment in August 1921.
