Lexémy prirodzene a skutočne v komentároch slovenských online médií
Lexemes „prirodzene“ and „skutočne“ in the opinion pieces of Slovak online media

Summary/Abstract: This study examines the homonymy of the Slovak words prirodzene [naturally] and skutočne [really] in terms of part of speech homonymy. The focus is on their usage within the genre komentár [opinion piece] in Slovak online media. The research analyses the grammatical, semantic and pragmatic properties of these words when they function as adverbs and particles. It also investigates their formal separation by commas, particularly when they are used as particles. Using samples from the Slovak National Corpus and the comment sections of Aktuality, Denník N and SME, the study aimed to understand how the genre influences the use of these words. The hypothesis that particles would dominate was not confirmed for either word in the research sample. The findings suggest that both words are used to reinforce the author’s arguments and interpretations, thereby enhancing the persuasive nature of the genre.
