Summary/Abstract: A small religious community of Molokans lived in Budjak, Ukraine, for nearly two centuries. It ceased to exist at the end of the last century, when the last believers converted to Baptist. Today’s Baptists, like Molokans before them, live among the Orthodox majority. The memory of the old Molokan religious life is preserved among the older generation. The social framework of this memory is determined by the local variant of the religious borderland culture.
