Summary/Abstract: In the article, the author states the importance of the Dubay family as a family of the Ruthenian intelligentsia in the interwar and postwar period not only for the culture and education of the Ruthenians in Czechoslovakia, but also for the culture and education of the state in which this Ruthenian family lived and lives for many generations. The author was interested in the enlightenment of Anna’s mother, who invested the money earned in the USA by her husband Dezider, a Greek Catholic priest, in the education of all seven children, and not in material possessions, thereby influencing their future lives and the influence of her children in the field of culture in Slovakia, specifically in Bratislava, Košice and in Prešov. The article emphasizes the artistic talent in the Dubay family, inherited from Anna’s father Michal Kaliňák, as well as Anna Dubayová herself, and continuing in the next four generations of children, grandchildren or great-grandchildren.
